Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell

The institution has constituted the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, with the objective of providing a safe, secure, and respectful working and learning environment for women.

Objectives of the Act

The Act was enacted with the following objectives:

  • To protect women against sexual harassment at the workplace.
  • To prevent incidents of sexual harassment through awareness and sensitization.
  • To provide an effective redressal mechanism for complaints related to sexual harassment.

Constitutional Protection

The legislation recognizes that sexual harassment of women constitutes a violation of fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution of India, particularly the Right to Equality under Articles 14 and 15, and the Right to Life with dignity under Article 21.

Role of the Internal Complaints Committee

In pursuance of the provisions of the Act, the institution has established a dedicated Internal Complaints Committee empowered to receive, inquire into, and redress complaints of sexual harassment.

The Committee ensures that every complaint is handled with sensitivity, confidentiality, and fairness, thereby upholding the dignity and rights of all individuals within the campus community.
