Bosco Theatre Club Conducts Field Study among Folk Artists

The Bosco Theatre Club of Don Bosco College, Yelagiri Hills, organized a field study among the folk artists of Yelagiri Hills on Sunday, 25 January 2026.

The programme was conducted with the blessings of the Rector and Secretary, Rev. Fr. Dr. Bosco Augustine SDB, and the Vice Rector, Rev. Fr. Dr. Thaddeus SDB, under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. L. Ravi, with the leadership of the Vice Principals and the Campus Minister, Rev. Fr. Berthuil SDB, and with the best wishes of the Dean, Rev. Fr. Jerome Henry SDB.

As part of the study, students undertook a walking visit to Athanoor, Pallakkaniyur, Kottur, and Nilavoor villages, where they interacted with local folk theatre artists. The discussions focused on traditional theatre techniques, acting styles, contemporary theatre trends, and the present living conditions of folk artists.

Students from the Bosco Theatre Association, along with students from other departments, actively participated and gained valuable firsthand experience.

The programme was successfully coordinated by Mr. N. Karthick, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil, and Dr. T. Latha, Head, Department of Tamil.
