Introduction

Don Bosco College (Co-Education), Yelagiri Hills, Tirupattur, celebrated the Republic Day of India with great patriotism, discipline, and enthusiasm. The event reflected the institution’s commitment to national values, unity, and responsible citizenship.

Guard of Honour

The programme commenced with a Guard of Honour presented by the NCC Cadets, symbolising discipline, respect, and service to the nation. The cadets demonstrated impeccable coordination and military precision, setting a dignified tone for the celebration.

Master of Ceremony

The entire programme was anchored by Master James from NSS, along with his team. The comperes efficiently guided the event from the welcome address to the vote of thanks, ensuring smooth transitions and disciplined conduct throughout the celebration.

Programme Proceedings

  1. Tamil Thaai Vazhthu
    The event formally began with the rendition of Tamil Thaai Vazhthu, invoking reverence for the Tamil language and cultural heritage.
  2. Welcome Address
    The welcome address warmly greeted the dignitaries, staff members, NCC and NSS volunteers, and students, highlighting the significance of Republic Day and the spirit of constitutional values.
  3. Presidential Address
    The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Bosco Augustin SDB,
    Rector and Secretary, Don Bosco College (Co-Ed).
    In his inspiring speech, he emphasized the importance of the Indian Constitution, democratic values, social responsibility, and the role of youth in nation-building. His address encouraged students to uphold integrity, unity, and service in their academic and personal lives.
  4. Tamil Speech on Republic Day
    A meaningful Tamil speech on Republic Day was delivered by Mr. Sanjay from NSS, who elaborated on the historical significance of the Constitution, the sacrifices of freedom fighters, and the duties of citizens in preserving democratic ideals.
  5. English Speech on Republic Day
    An English speech was delivered by Miss KIMNGAIHTHIEM GANGTE, focusing on constitutional rights, national unity, and the responsibility of young citizens in shaping the future of the country.
  6. Cultural Performance
    A vibrant dance performance by the NSS team followed, portraying patriotism, unity in diversity, and love for the motherland. The performance was well received and applauded by the audience.
  7. Flag Hoisting Ceremony
    The highlight of the celebration was the Flag Hoisting by Rev. Fr. Thaddeus SDB,
    Vice Rector and CEO of Bosco Soft Technologies, Yelagiri Hills.
    As the National Flag was hoisted, the campus resonated with patriotic fervour.
  8. National Anthem
    The ceremony was followed by the National Anthem, sung in unison, instilling pride and respect for the nation.
  9. March Past and Drill
    The NCC Cadets performed a March Past and Drill, saluting the National Flag and honouring the Chief Guest. Their disciplined movements reflected dedication, training, and national service values.

Vote of Thanks

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by CPL. Abinesh from NCC, who expressed gratitude to the management, chief guest, chair persons, staff members, NCC and NSS volunteers, and students for their active participation and support in making the event successful.

Distribution of Sweets

As a gesture of joy and unity, sweets were distributed to all the audience, marking the celebration on a pleasant and cheerful note.
