1. Introduction

Blood donation is a noble and life-saving act that plays a crucial role in medical emergencies, surgeries, and the treatment of various health conditions. To promote humanitarian values and create awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation among youth, the Red Ribbon Club of Don Bosco College (Co-Ed), Yelagiri Hills, organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with CMC Hospital.

The camp was conducted on 30th January 2026 at Jubilee Hall with the objective of encouraging students to donate blood voluntarily and contribute to society.

2. Purpose of the Event

The Blood Donation Camp was organized to:

  • Create awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation
     
  • Encourage students to actively participate in life-saving initiatives
     
  • Support healthcare institutions with safe and sufficient blood supply
     
  • Promote social responsibility and humanitarian values among students
     
  • Strengthen collaboration between educational institutions and healthcare providers

 

  • Encourage the youth to take part in social health campaigns.
     
  • Build a responsible and informed community through awareness activities.

4. Description of the Event

The Blood Donation Camp commenced at 10:00 AM at Jubilee Hall. The event began with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty members, medical team, and student donors. The medical team from CMC Hospital, led by Mr. Arul, Blood Donation In-charge, along with Dr. Sujan, ensured that all medical procedures were conducted safely and efficiently.

Before the donation process, donors were screened carefully, and guidelines regarding eligibility and post-donation care were clearly explained. Students actively participated with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of social responsibility.

A total of 54 students and 1 driver voluntarily donated blood, resulting in the successful collection of 20 units of blood. The donors were provided with refreshments and proper care after donation. The event concluded at 1:20 PM with appreciation and encouragement from the organizing team.

6. Feedback and Observations

Participants expressed a sense of pride and satisfaction in being part of a life-saving initiative. The donors found the experience motivating and expressed willingness to participate in similar future activities. The medical team appreciated the discipline and cooperation of the students.

The Blood Donation Camp organized by the Red Ribbon Club of Don Bosco College (Co-Ed), Yelagiri Hills, was a meaningful and successful initiative that reflected the spirit of service and social responsibility among students. The active participation of students and the effective support from the CMC Hospital medical team ensured the smooth conduct of the camp and the successful collection of blood units. This event not only contributed to saving lives but also strengthened awareness about voluntary blood donation, inspiring students to continue participating in humanitarian activities for the welfare of society.
